Objective of the Function
3G/LTE/4G is a new wave of technology. The involved technologies (algorithm design, architecture, automation, advanced tools, complex system environment, etc.) become more and more challenging. The role is to support the development of 3G classic platform.
Tasks / Responsibilities
The development engineer is responsible for the 3G classic platform development and testing:
- Support the distributed system development and testing based on own OS, existing software and blade HW; the system is used already as a platform to develop other network elements in 3G system;
- Develop SW new innovative / concept ideas to fully utilize the capacity of new HW with Intel multicore CPU and verify the ideas in early phase based on simulation
- Implement the ideas and upgrade existing software accordingly
- Takes part in reviews
- Actively promotes the (internal and external) knowledge transfer (e.g. through coaching, networking)
Education
Minimum Bachelor of Science or Engineering
Experience
· At least 5 years software development professional experience
· Experience with software development process
· Telecom experience is must;
· Experience with parallel algorithm design
· Experience with real-time operating system and scheduling
· Multicore development experience is preferred
· Good knowledge of wireless communication network, WCDMA / LTE is preferred
· Knowledge of HW
· Knowledge of multicore CPU architecture and instruction set
